Coconut sugar

Coconut sugar is a relatively new product on the polish market. It's made from coconut palm flower buds. This sugar is not refined and doesn't contain artificial colourings. It's recently becoming popular thanks to properties better than traditional white sugar. It has, among other things, a lower glycemic index (35) as well as more minerals. It's characterised by a high content of potassium, magnesium, iron, zinc, C and B vitamins. It's also rich in enzymes, antioxidants and various aminoacids. It has a sweet, mild, caramel aftertaste and pleasant scent. Coconut sugar is perfect for baking cakes, cookies and preparing desserts, since it gives them a great coconut aroma. Many people use it to sweeten tea, lemonade or compotes. Lovers of far-eastern cuisine will surely love this product, since it enhances the taste of spicy, sweet and sour dishes. It works greatly with oriental spices. After heating up it forms a very aromatic caramel.
